Out of nowhere, the President's opinion which actually should not matter in this case, is the title of the headline in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline report (Aquino: Massacre trial should be aired live. DoJ bats for transparency, people’s right to know) gave President Aquino space for his opinion that counters a SC decision on media coverage of court hearings on the Ampatuan Massacre. Sec. De Lima also enjoyed uncontested space for her opinion although the same is milder than the President's. The report does not have any material on the SC side. Aquino +1. De Lima +1. SC -1.

The other Front Page news today:

No ‘wow’ factor in tourism’s new slogan - a commentary list from different personalities, mostly negative on the new tourism slogan. DOT -1.

Santiago: Aquino execs bunch of lightweights - looks like a column by Sen. Santiago, confusing herself whether to commend or trash the President, with comments from the administration. Sen. Santiago mentioned lightweights without naming who she is referring to, and perhaps worth a negative score for the President. Aquino -1.

SLAIN BOTANIST. ‘Gunfire came from one direction’ - a continuing report from yesterday on the death of a botanist and some of his guides, presumably in the hands of trigger panicky military personnel. AFP -1.

‘Noy is President, why not order his family to be just?’ - a he-says-she-says report on the Hacienda Luisita, which did not say what prompted the piece, and which turned out more negative than positive to the President. Aquino -1.

US: Abus get funds from OFWs - a mostly negative take on a US intel. US -1.

Billionaire Pacquiao earns another P1B - a report everything positive on Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao +1.

Prince William seals engagement with Diana’s ring - an international report on the British royal engagement.

The scores:
Pacquiao: 1
De Lima: 1
SC: -1
DOT: -1
US: -1
AFP: -1
Aquino: -1
