The Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today took a story related to the hostage fiasco as main headline, although more space is devoted to volunteerism and do-good-feel-good type of news.

The main headline today is Binay mission on hold. RP to send De Lima report to Chinese embassy - a report much like a press statements from Sec. Lacierda and VP Binay, given free pass by the paper even if said statements sound absurd. Aquino +1. Binay +1.

The other news today:

FIELD OF DREAMS II Smokey’s diamond in the rough rises - a report that says sports can do wonders to poor people via a project led by Gawad Kalinga.

‘Dear Mr. President’ letters seek free education - a report on a UN Millennium Development Goals project using kids to tell the President he is good but he can do more. Aquino +1.

Servathon: Volunteers touch lives, are heroes for a day - another report of good people working together for the benefit of communities, led among others by the paper itself. Inquirer +1.

Prison break: Laughter sets high-risk inmates free - a novel activity involving yoga in the Metro Manila District Jail for prisoners there.

TGIF: No homework on weekends–DepEd - welcome news to students who do not want doing assignments.

The scores:
Aquino: 2
Binay: 1
Inquirer: 1
