Again, the case against the office of the Ombudsman took centerstage at the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline (Senators back Aquino sacking of Gonzalez. Stay away from case, Ombudsman urged) is a report which says that everyone thinks the Ombudsman is wrong in protecting one of its deputies. Aquino +1. Ombudsman -1. Pangilinan +1.

The other front page news reports:

Agusan hostage talks bog down - the hostage situation in Agusan is far from being resolved but the President is confident it will be. Aquino +1.

ANALYSIS. President’s order a side issue in trial of Gutierrez - surprises everyone with a negative analysis of the President's actions against the office of the Ombudsman. Aquino -1.

Bishops slam Good Friday crucifixions - the church given space to warn against bizarre Lenten practices. Catholic Church +1.

Japan fails to halt gush of toxic water into sea - an update on the Japanese situation.

Inquirer launches Japan relief drive - the paper is concerned with the victims in Japan. PDI +1.

Aquino revs up media machine - even while the President receives largely favorable coverage in the mainstream media, including from the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page, he still thinks more is needed to bring the good news of his Presidency to the people. Aquino +1.

The scores:
Aquino: 3 -1 =2
Pangilinan: 1
Catholic Church: 1
PDI: 1
Ombudsman: -1
