October 2, 2010

The main news now in, and for so many days in a row, the Philippine Daily Inquirer Front Page banners the spin of threat of excommunication supposedly coming from the CBCP against the supposedly steadfast President.

The main headline (OVER EXCOMMUNICATION. CBCP: No threat vs Aquino. Church says all a miscommunication) plainly reports that the CBCP President is lying when he denies his threat of excommunication even while the Inquirer report itself quoted him yesterday (Oct. 1) as saying it is "a possibility" but "not" a "proximate possibility" (The separate transcript though published by the Inquirer on the internet of the Veritas interview did not include "not" although the context obviously means it is "not"). The news also reports the supposedly growing protests against the Church. Catholic Church -1.

The other news today:

‘SHAMEFUL DEED’ 230 Manila priests condemn Celdran - reports the side of the church on the lonely protest by an RH Bill supporter, although it still perpetuates the story and the topic itself. Catholic Church +1.

Palace: Aquino ‘above faith’ - is a story on the resolute President being threatened by an antequated church. This report supposedly pose as more representative than the previous report since the interviews were coming from senators that are not necessarily against the church. Aquino +1. Catholic Church -1.

Gov’t ready to stop strike by PAL workers - the President through Sec. Lacierda shows concern for riding public. Aquino +1.

Celdran released; ‘Damaso’ draws raves in cyberspace - a cyberspace popular church disruptor getting more media coverage. Catholic Church -1.

Greens want toxic skin whiteners banned - an environmentalist group's take on whitening products.

The scores seems to show that the Catholic Church is now part of the evil empire:
Aquino: 2
Catholic Church: -2
