A bomb that shattered a bus and shook Northern Cotabato took away the focus of the Front Page of the Phil. Daily Inquirer's today from Typhoon "Juan".
The main headline (Cotabato blast kills 10. Police say explosive detonated by cell phone) reports on the events surrounding the bus bombing and its casualties. It gave some apace to President Aquino's statements giving him a little bit of positive treatment. Aquino +1.
The other news today:
Aquino flies to Isabela, weathers his 1st storm - a report that shows President Aquino acting like a really good father. The report is totally disconnected from other previous reports and even to itself when it states the crop damages. This report would have been the headline had the bomb in North Cotabato did not blow off. Aquino +1.
‘SC sanction for UP law profs has chilling effect’ - the Supreme Court is an old boy's club out for revenge. SC -1.
Carlo Caparas faces P540-M tax evasion case - a director who got an atrocious government contract from the time of President Arroyo charged for tax evasion, perhaps like Al Capone. Arroyo -1.
Aquino set to talk peace with Reds, names panel - a very "accountable government" talking peace unilaterally. Aquino +1.
Hitmakers Charice & Co. hit Manila - a press promotion for an upcoming concert which includes our very own Charice collaborating with international artists.
Lapid bill says children must support parents - a report on an actor turned Senator filing seemingly trivial bills.
Watch out, Ping; Leila mad - a government sided media drive on the Lacson issue. Aquino +1.
The scores:
Aquino: 4
Arroyo: -1
SC: -1
