A supposedly negative take on the President via his lowered popularity ratings is the centerpiece in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline (Aquino’s ratings dip but still high. President hits media for stress on negative) seems to be a carefully managed spin on the approval and trust rating of the President which is not necessarily low if they were to be believed. The report seems trying to impart that the President is a perfectionist of sorts. Aquino +1.

The other news in the Front Page today:

Japan offers to invest $5B in PH - a whole lot of good news, all not verified by the paper, from the President. Aquino +1.

Bus strike strands thousands in Metro - a he-said-she-said report on the bus strike yesterday. The report gave MMDA some good treatment as being tough. MMDA +1.

COMMENTARY 2 apostles of change grapple with rising discontent - an analysis on Aquino's presidency, comparing it Obama's, that gave a carefully worded yet still resulting in negative opinion on the President. Aquino -1.

Pacquiao era in boxing ending - more reports on Pacquiao whom on his recent fight did not necessarily have it, although it looked, easy. Pacquiao +1.

Long wait for justice in massacre - an AFP report from the victim family's point of view on the slow pace of court proceedings on Ampatuan massacre.

Solons call for sanctions against striking operators - a report on lawmakers pandering to commuters, castigating bus drivers and owners, but did not give those castigated the space for their side.

Aquino: Lay off my love life and focus on issues - while the President keeps talking about his lovelife, the report focused on that he doesn't want people to talk about it. Instead he wanted people to see his accomplishments (supposed billions of dollars in investments) from his recent trip abroad. Of course the report did not include the details of his accomplishments. Aquino +1.

The scores:
Aquino: 2
Pacquiao: 1
MMDA: 1
