December 24, 2010

The same news on alleged plunderer, former AFP Comptroller Gen Garcia, as yesterday, took the center-stage of the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline (AFP chief of staff: No to Garcia deal. DoJ rediscovers tax evasion charge against accused) is a repeat of previous headlines, perhaps the paper trying to squeeze the most out of the issue. This time, the report includes comments from the AFP as well as of the two Francis' in the Senate. Meanwhile, the only person who supported the beleaguered general, Sen. Honasan, is easily broken down as a Mistah. Aquino +1. De Lima +1. Sen. Pangilinan +1. Escudero +1. Ombudsman -1.

The other news today:

Lacson’s bid for new probe rejected - A report that said Sec. De Lima is correct on Lacson. De Lima +1

For tent dwellers, new home is best gift - there is a brief mention of the President in this report, while the PNRC remained nameless. Aquino +1.

Slain botanist’s kin lament slow probe - a report that questions the slowness of the government investigators that did not mention Pres. Aquino nor Sec. De Lima by name.

New plant species named after Co - a new specie of plant is to be named after a botanist (they have not named it yet) who may have been mistakenly killed by soldiers.

A rare triple celestial treat - a feature article mixing science, poetry and religion.

Holiday miracle: Public teachers get full bonus - the DepEd and the DBM cooperated to give teachers their bonuses in time. DepEd +1. DBM +1.

Laguna rapist-killer also wants out of jail - a curious report on former Calauan Mayor Sanchez.

The scores:
Aquino: 2
De Lima: 2
Sen. Pangilinan: 1
Escudero: 1
DepEd: 1
DBM: 1
Ombudsman: -1
