December 30, 2010

The Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today gave main headline space again for the Vizconde massacre case.

The headline (Vizconde seeks reversal. Exceptions to double jeopardy are cited) is an almost one-sided report for the petition to the SC to look into the Vizconde Massacre case again, against the recently acquitted suspects. The report gives credence to the petition as with space for positive comments such as "saving the judicial system", obviously chiding the Supreme Court decision. The report also gave space to Sen. Francis Pangilinan and Sec. Leila DeLima for their own comments, however insignificant they may be. SC -1. De Lima +1. Sen. Pangilinan +1.

The other news today:

Greatest love of Rizal, the romantic, dominated his passion for women - a feature on the national hero, Jose Rizal, that included his words on duty and love.

Another ambulance crash: 3 die - a report on another accident this time in Nueva Ecija.

Chile’s envoy discovered PH nat’l hero in Heidelberg - an interview with the Chilean envoy praising our national hero.

FIRST AID TIPS. ‘Must haves’ for safe New Year - an article featuring the DOH's general advise to avoid injury for the New Year revelries. DOH +1.

Solons back NPA ‘tax’ in peace talks - is a report on some politicians commenting against the NPA for extortions. NPA -1.

Bishops: Spend money on food, not on ’crackers - a report gaving space to some Bishops' comments against firecrackers. Catholic Church +1.

The scores:
De Lima: 1
Sen. Pangilinan: 1
DOH: 1
Catholic Church: 1
SC: -1
NPA: -1
