June 10, 2011

What seems to be a worsening dispute in the Spratlys is the headline in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline (China to neighbors: Keep out of Spratlys. Stop search for oil, sans permission, says envoy) is mostly news space dedicated to China's general statements but which title gave the impression that they are bullying their way. China -1.

The other front page news reports today:

Opposition plan to probe Aquino buddies shot down - If it is about President Aquino, it would be about former President Arroyo. Aquino +1. Arroyo -1.

Dodong’ brings floods; death toll: 9 - the DepEd and PAGASA are simply doing their jobs. DepEd +1. PAGASA +1.

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo House allies also taunted ‘KKK’ - President Arroyo is worse than President Aquino. Arroyo -1.

Court of Appeals orders banks to freeze assets of alleged carnap leaders, parents - the courts are using what seems to be a new-found weapon, freezing the bank assets of the accused, which surely are examples to lay the ground for possible future political use.

Bicol Express back June 29 - a coverage of the train service for Bicol with the paper's radio sister station having a special relation. Inquirer +1.

The scores shows the former President again negatively mentioned in the front page even when there is no real news about her:
Aquino: 1
DepEd: 1
PAGASA: 1
Inquirer: 1
China: -1
Arroyo: -2
