Speculation on the DOTC Sec's resignation supported by statements from unnamed sources took the center lane in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.
The texts of the headline ('Last straw' pushed Ping. 3 more DOTC Execs resigned due to 'frustration') cannot be found from the inquirer website as of this writing (6.15PM, June 4, 2011). Another news report which seems to have similar content can be seen as follows: DOTC SOURCE SAYS. De Jesus quit due to lack of Palace support. The said report which is based largely from an unnamed source but seem to be supported by confirmed resignations from the DOTC, put the Aquino government in negative light. Aquino -1.
The other front page news reports today:
Palace sets P500 monthly pension for poor elderly - the administration, the DSWD and the Department of Budget are given space in the front page to explain that they are giving away money to indigent senior citizens. Aquino +1. DSWD +1. DBM +1.
Binay formula: Marcos burial with full military honors in Ilocos - gave compromise on the issue of the Marcos Burial, based again from an unnamed source. Marcos +1. Binay +1.
Black coral vendor charged; drops out of sight - Various government agencies are shown to be doing their jobs even while the supposed criminals cannot be located. DOJ +1. BFAR +1. BoC +1.
Gov’t scrambles to save fish in Laguna Lake - even when disasters are happening due perhaps to negligence, the concerned government departments are given good space to say what they are doing. DENR +1. Robredo +1.
‘Botcha’ not haute cuisine for crocs - more side stories on the fishkill.
The scores:
Binay: 1
De Lima: 1
Robredo: 1
Marcos: 1
DENR: 1
BFAR: 1
BoC: 1
DBM: 1
DSWD: 1
Aquino: 1 -1 =0
