The many smiling faces of the President (while the Webbs whine against the DOJ) adorns the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.
The headline (Webbs: Stop lies, lunacy. De Lima could face disbarment) seems to be the first time ever we saw De Lima in negative light in an Inquirer headline or front page, via statements from the Webbs. De Lima -1. NBI -1.
The other front page news reports today:
Editorial: Confidence - at first looks like a lambaste of President Aquino but actually a sterling assesment of his first year of office and a lambaste of the previous administration. Aquino +1. Arroyo -1.
Pajero bishops mum; some solons also got PCSO funds - surely the Bishops would have there hands full on an unconfirmed report and would not have any more chance to react negatively on the President's one year anniversary. Catholic Church -1. Arroyo -1.
25 killed in Davao flash flood - a story of floods in Davao City killing 25 and sparing PAGASA from lack of capability to predict rains even when they say they have doppler radars.
Palace: DoJ chief fair; Vizconde: Truth hurts - It is actually the victims' father (and husband) who is supporting the DOJ secretary and the NBI, although the actual statements made are quite unclear. De Lima +1. NBI +1.
‘Youthful, upbeat’ rites mark Aquino’s 1st year - Aquino good. Arroyo bad. Aquino +1. Arroyo -1.
Water hyacinth: From bane to boon - the TESDA is simply doing its job. TESDA +1.
The scores:
Aquino: 2
TESDA: 1
NBI: 1 -1 = 0
De Lima: 1 -1 =0
Catholic Church: -1
Arroyo: -3
