The most popular government department secretary again got premium space in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.
The headline (Bribes to NBP execs bared. De Lima: Drug rings pay for jail transfers) gave the DOJ secretary space to express her shock of the illegal drug operations within the penal system but the paper is not shocked that the Sec. has been one year on the job without realizing it. De Lima +1.
The other front page news reports today:
Usual woes, protests mar start of classes - using the word 'usual' seems to clear the present administration in the 'inherited' problems of the DepEd. DepEd +1.
Roxas prefers to be Aquino’s chief of staff, says official - An unnamed source is given premium space in the front page to talk about the jockeying for positions within the administration, which by such prominence the paper actually accorded credibility to the information. The report actually gave Roxas a chance to tell the people that he is being lobbied out, thus exerting some pressure on the President. Roxas +1. Aquino -1.
SPRATLYS RESOLUTION. PH pushes rules-based approach - a report which gave the DFA Sec space to air his views on the Spratlys. DFA +1.
Coral poaching dubbed ‘new muro-ami’ - the DENR Sec. given free space for his views even if poaching happens under his watch, while a Senator is heard. DENR +1. Zubiri +1.
Rizal depicted as McDo mascot - a feature on paintings of the national hero.
The scores today again placed President Aquino on the negative:
De Lima: 1
Roxas: 1
DFA: 1
DENR: 1
DepEd: 1
Zubiri: 1
Aquino: -2
