January 29, 2011

The former president is again the main topic in the Phil. Daily Inquirer Front Page today.

The headline (Ex-colonel to link Arroyo. ‘There’s no turning back,’ says Rabusa) is the report we expect from yesterday, one that links the former President to recent allegations that unfortunately is still lacking in detail but already received wide acceptance. Arroyo -1. Reyes -1.

The other front page news today:

Reyes faces probe over P50-million send-off gift - a further juicing of the same report, this time giving good space for several national personalities. Aquino +1. De Lima +1. Trillanes +1. DND +1. Estrada +1. AFP +1. Casino +1. Reyes -1.

CULTURE OF CORRUPTION. ‘Wait for your turn to steal’ - a report that seems to plainly say that the AFP is corrupt. AFP -1.

Aquino puts up P1M for bombers - a report lacking of any update on the EDSA Bus Bombing but are mere statements from administration officials. The report include another bus bombing incident in Maguindanao the other day that was more like a side report than headline. Aquino +1. PNP +1.

Aquino gets master’s tips on how to beat ‘jueteng’ - a mayor self-confessing on Jueteng which seems just alright.

Bugged crocs released into wilds of Isabela - a report on crocodiles that ought to be protected.

2 suspects in Venson’s slay charged - an update on a criminal case without real updates.

Hit man cries when told ‘Doc Gerry’ a good guy - the only update it seems on this killing is that the killer is shedding tears.

The scores:
Aquino: 2
De Lima: 1
Trillanes: 1
DND: 1
Estrada: 1
Casino: 1
PNP: 1
Arroyo: -1
Reyes: -2
